Set up GST and taxes

Work in progress

This guide is an outline — the Zynka team is completing it. The structure below shows what it will cover.

What this does

Registers your GSTINs in Zynka and controls how tax is calculated on invoices — including multi-state businesses, where the place of supply decides whether an invoice carries CGST+SGST or IGST. Acme has two registrations: Maharashtra (27AAACA1234F1Z5, head office) and Karnataka (29AAACA1234F1Z2, Bengaluru branch).

Who can do this

Company Admin or a user with accounts/settings access (Meera, at Acme).

Before you begin

  • Your GST registration certificate(s) — GSTIN, legal name, and registered address per state
  • Your standard tax rates per service/product type

Steps

Screenshots pending — will be captured from the Acme Field Services demo company.

  1. TODO: Adding a GST registration.
  2. TODO: Adding a second state registration.
  3. TODO: How Zynka picks CGST+SGST vs IGST from the place of supply.
  4. TODO: Linking invoice number series per registration.

Verify it worked

  • TODO: Raise a same-state test invoice (expect CGST+SGST) and a cross-state one (expect IGST).
